A salute to Candace Parker
The evolution of basketball took another gigantic leap forward yesterday when Candace Parker won the Slam Dunk Championship at the McDonald's High School All-American Game. The Men's Slam Dunk Championship. The 6-foot-4 Parker is the two-time winner of the Naismith National Player of the Year and perhaps the most hyped female high school baller of all time.
Just don't call her SheBron; that isn't right. Parker completed three dunks, capping the competition with her interpretation of Dee Brown's infamous arm-over-the-eyes throw down (though she did peek at the end). "Sky Walker" Parker will take her game — and the game — to the next level at Tennessee in the fall.
